Insurance Industry News & Views - September 14 2021

Chisel AI is pleased to announce the appointment of Jason McDermott to President and CEO. Jason will also be joining the company's board of directors effective immediately. As CEO, Jason will oversee all company operations. McDermott succeeds founder and former CEO Ron Glozman who has stepped away from the company to pursue other ventures but remains a significant shareholder.

“On behalf of the board, it's my pleasure to confirm Jason McDermott as CEO,” said Brian McLoughlin, Partner and Co-Founder of MTech Capital. “A seasoned software industry leader, Jason is the right person to helm the company as it scales, bringing a mature vision, proven operational prowess, passion, and stability. Chisel AI is uniquely positioned to help insurance organizations and BPOs accelerate profitable growth through intelligent AI-powered automation, and I look forward to working with Jason and the leadership team as they execute their growth strategy.”

McDermott, who joined Chisel AI in 2018 as Chief Revenue Officer, brings a wealth of experience from his 30 years in the technology industry, helping early-stage companies scale by realizing their value through strategy, leadership, and innovation. Prior to Chisel AI, he served as Vice President of Sales at TECSYS Inc. Earlier in his career, Jason served as Vice President, Finance Solutions for NexJ Systems, and led the financial services delivery practice for insurance and finance industry leader Janna Systems, which was purchased for $1.4 billion in 2000.

“I am excited to serve Chisel AI in the role of President and CEO as we gear up for the next stage of growth. As we look to the future, we’re thrilled with the traction we’re seeing in the market as insurance companies seek to automate core underwriting and placement processes like submission intake and policy checking,” said McDermott.

“I’m proud of the accomplishments our incredible team have achieved so far, and I couldn’t be more excited for the tremendous opportunity in front of us. We are in a strong position to capitalize on the market opportunity for our AI, machine learning, and natural language understanding solutions that help insurance carriers and brokers achieve revenue growth by placing coverage faster and delivering a better digital customer experience.” – Jason McDermott, President and CEO, Chisel AI
